Eric Tsai

Eric Tsai is Co-Founder and CEO of Mivium where he leads the overall strategic vision and oversees the entire business. Experienced in building global brands while operating global supply chain, he previously pioneered numerous hyper growth business innovation for multiple startups to Fortune 100 companies. More recently he served as the Vice President of Marketing & Business Development for Joybird, a direct-to-consumer brand he helped build from $10M to $200M+ and was later acquired by La-Z-Boy Corporation. During his tenure with the company, he amassed $790M in total revenue for the business. Eric’s work has been featured by Google, Meta, Pinterest as well as in publications such as VentureBeat, Forbes,, Entrepreneur, and Internet Retailing.

Jim Qiu

Co-Founder, CPO
As Chief Product Officer with over 30 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, Jim leads the entire design and development of Mivium’s core IP. He holds several patents and is one of the world's leading experts in the R&D and production of 3rd gen semiconductor materials using solvent-less physical methods and replacing traditional chemical methods for preparing gallium nitride and other multi-metal compound materials. Previously, Jim has led engineering teams at Intel and TriQuint on design, configuration, testing, installation and commissioning of PC-based factory automation systems for wafer processing & manufacturing facilities at ILS. Jim also developed factory automation systems at Applied Materials and etch systems for wafer processing at Lam Research.

Chandra Deshpandey, PhD

Chandra leads Mivium’s technology execution and brings with him the experience and knowledge building world-class innovative new products in a complex environment from concept to production within budget and on time. Recognized as an expert in semiconductor processes and materials science, Chandra has extensive experience in deposition (PVD, CVD, ALD, ETCH) systems, ceramics, coatings, thin-films, tools, lasers, and semiconductor device technologies. Chandra has started and exited two companies: Angstrom systems Inc., with funding from Intel capital and KLA Tencor to develop an atomic layer deposition (ALD) process and system; and RF Arrays to design and manufacture microwave front-end chips and wireless communication and control systems. Chandra also worked as professor at the Department of Materials Science, UCLA.

Louis A. Bevilacqua

Mr. Bevilacqua counsels companies of every size ranging from entrepreneurs with just an idea to established companies whose securities trade on the NYSE or NASDAQ. He has broad experience representing issuers in public offerings and private placements of securities (including private placements under Rule 506(c) of the Securities Act, crowdfunding offerings under Title III of the JOBS Act and Regulation CF and Regulation A+ offerings), Exchange Act compliance, angel and venture capital financings, other areas of equity and debt financing and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Bevilacqua is also a Senior Advisor to Visionary Private Equity Group.

Omar Gadir, PhD

Governmental Science Advisor
Omar is entrepreneurial and results-focused with over 20 years of experience in executive level positions, as well as working with, and advising on federal grants and funding. His experience covers many facets of software including semiconductor and AI. He was responsible for semiconductor test equipment that was integrated in production lines of Samsung and LG. As a technology trend-spotter and pioneer, Omar started working on AI drug discovery and has helped launch a new frontier in cancer treatment and precision medicine that is being capitalized today. During the last few years, his interest in AI and ML has led his attention to semiconductor material science as a necessary technology gap that must be filled in order for AI and biotechnology to reach their full potential.

Rick Qiu

As Senior Vice President Rick is responsible for driving Mivium’s product vision and technology strategy. He is able to combine many disciplines including material science, computer engineering, and advanced manufacturing methods, in order to create sustainable and scalable platforms to solve the semiconductor problem. Having previously led product launch teams at Nokia, McAfee, and Malwarebytes as well as launching Mearview, an augmented reality (AR) startup that combined computer vision and machine learning well ahead of its time, Rick has consistently been on the bleeding edge of technology and enthusiastically shoulders the responsibility of launching the NBT (Next Big Thing).
